Add Salt at the Beginning

4 February 2009

If you use salt in a dish, it is better to add it at the beginning rather than at the end.

When salt is actually cooked with the dish, it acts as an enhancer of flavours. If you add it at the end, or on the plate, it will simply impart a salty taste to the dish.

Don't overdo salt! There is no need for much salt at all in dishes. In fact, many people avoid it all together.
